Things To Do In Tulum
Tulum is known for its beautiful beaches and Ancient Mayan Ruins. It is only a 40 minute ride to the amazing jungle ruins of Coba, and 2 hours distance from the majestic Chichen Itza. Though much smaller in size, the Tulum Ruins is the third most visited historical site in all of Mexico, and you will know why when you visit. Aside from exploring the history and culture of this beautiful region of Mexico, there are endless activities and adventures waiting to be discovered and enjoyed by you.

Wanting to lounge around to do during the day?
Approximately 500 meters down the beach from La Luna is a beach club that offers kite-boarding lessons. You can also rent kayaks or boogie boards and explore the area on your own. Every Sunday, this beach club has a midday beach party, with live music, cocktails and lots of fun!

Looking to be active, and want to explore the area?
Just down the road from La Luna is the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, the largest marine natural protected area in Mexico. Sian Ka'an offers many different types of tours that include activities such as swimming, snorkeling, bird watching, fishing, and boating. Whether you want to float down the lazy river or hit the ocean for some bone fishing, just let us know what you are interested and we will be more than happy to book the perfect tour for you.

The beautiful Caribbean waters and reef make this coast the perfect place for diving. We work most frequently with Mexidivers, a local diving company that not only offers diving tours in the ocean, but the cenotes (caverns that are connected with tunnels filled with freshwater) as well. If diving isn't for you, but you want to get in the water and enjoy all that is around you, they also offer snorkel and fishing tours.

Have a soft spot for animals?
Here in Tulum you can swim with the dolphins, snorkel with the fish and sing with the birds. At La Luna we a lucky enough to be located in a spot frequented by sea turtles during nesting season, which starts in May and runs through the summer. If you are lucky enough, you can catch the sea turtles late at night, making their way up the beach. Just remember, they are an endangered species and are easily spooked. Respect their space and they will show you one of nature's most amazing sights. Seen a dog, cat, or iguana wandering around the property? Then you must have spotted Foxy (the dog), Luna (the cat) and El (the iguana).

Love to indulge in foreign cuisine?
Tulum has a lot of great restaurants that may just surprise you. There is everything from local, simple foods, all the way to gourmet Mexican cuisine. Not in the mood for Mexican food? No problem! There are lots of Italian restaurants, followed by Argentinean, French and Japanese that will be sure to satisfy your taste buds.

Enjoy nightlife?
A little ways done the road from La Luna is La Zebra, a restaurant/bar that offers daily salsa lessons. Take some lessons and then come back on Sunday night and show off your new moves to the music of their in house salsa band. If it is Friday night fun that you are looking for, then be sure to check out the late night beach parties at Playa Azul and the Mezzanine.
